Required SMS U.S. Phone Number Registration
Dear ProPet Software x Twilio SMS users,
Twilio has informed us that “on August 31, 2023, all A2P messages sent from unregistered ten-digit long code numbers (10DLC) will be fully blocked in the U.S.” Twilio has sent a number of emails to their customers since January 2023 regarding this required change. This means that Twilio will be unable to deliver SMS messages until you have registered your phone number with them and until it has been accepted.
If you have already registered your phone number with them, please disregard this message and banner.
To complete the A2P 10 DCL Registration, you must complete the following 2 step:
- Verify if your number is “Managed by ProPet Software Inc”
- If so, begin phone number transfer process as outlined below
- Reconnect ProPet to your number and verify webhook
- Complete Twilios A2P 10DCL registration
Step 1: Verify if your number is “Managed by: ProPet Software Inc”
In your Twilio account under your “Active Numbers”, verify if the ”Active Configuration” of the number you are using within ProPet states “Managed By: ProPet Software Inc”. If so, move to the next step. If not, move to Step 2.
a) Transfer the number over to you
1. Phone number to be transferred:
Twilio Console > Active Numbers > the phone number that is”Managed by: ProPet Software”. See image below
2. Account SID:
Twilio Dashboard > Account Info > Account SID. See image below
3. Your Email address that was used to create your Twilio account:
This is the email you use to sign into your Twilio account
Once we have this information, we will email Twilio and CC you to transfer the number over to you. You must reply to all to approve the transfer request so Twilio knows you also approve the transfer. They will not complete it without both parties’ consent.
b) Reconnect ProPet to your number and verify the webhook.
Step 2: Complete Twilio’s A2P 10DCL
Twilio’s campaign registration is specific to each facility and your texting needs. As such, Twilio will be best suited to assist in any campagne questions you may have. You can contact Twilio at: support@twilio.zendesk.com
Please note, once you have completed the campaign registration, due to high demand, Twilio’s verification process could take up to a few weeks. During this wait period, your sent text messages will still be blocked.
