Payment Instructions and Credit Card requirement for your customers
For those facilities using our integrated payment providers, you can add different payment instructions and set up wherever a credit card is required to complete a booking request.
- Go to settings
- Under the Payments heading, click on “Customer Payment Instructions”
- Add your payment instructions and choose wherever a credit card is optional, required or not required to complete a reservation request per payment.
- Save Payment Options
With required credit cards, you will have the option to accept deposits automatically.
For those facilities who are using prepaid packages, you have the option to charge the credit card on file immediately for the voucher purchase.
- Go to settings
- Click on “Customer Payment Instructions”
- Scroll to the bottom of the page
- “PREPAID PACKAGE PURCHASE: PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS”
- Add your payment instruction message
- Check the “If the customer has a credit card on file, then charge for the voucher purchase immediately”
- Save Payment Options
Adjusting your Online Payment Settings:
You can customize your customer’s payment experience, including whether they can delete their credit cards, pay for confirmed bookings per service type via customer credit and/or credit card, accept tips, and choose whether they can make reservation requests when there is an outstanding balance. You also have the choice to automate a balance collection and pass on credit card fees.
You can access these settings by:
- Navigating to your Settings
- Under the Payments heading, select Online Payment Settings
- Review and adjust settings to your preferences
- Save your changes
Credit card fees for online payments
If, per your state legislature, you are able to pass on credit cards fees unto your customer, you are able to set up these credit card fees for online payments in ProPet by:
- Go to settings
- Click on “Online Payment Settings”
- Scroll to the bottom of the page
- “Charge processing fee when paying with an online credit card” > Yes
- Enter processing fee
Important information about this feature:
- Please ensure that passing along credit card fees to your customers is legal in your region of business. Consult with your accountant before enabling this feature.
- The processing fee is optional when you or your staff charge an online credit card for an individual invoice.
- The processing fee cannot be applied when paying for multiple invoices simultaneously with a bulk payment.
- The processing fee is applied automatically to the invoice when a customer pays with a credit card through their customer portal.
- The processing fee is not taxable.
You also will have the option to set up and collect online tips.
