Coupon Codes
You can now create unique coupon or promotional codes using our new Coupon Codes feature! This feature allows you to create a code that you and/or your customers can use to add a discount when creating a booking.
To set up a coupon code, please go to Settings > Pricing > Coupon Codes in your ProPet account and click the “New Coupon Code” button. You will then set up the following settings to ensure that the coupon codes works to your preferences:
- Name: give your code a name that will help you identify what it is for – this will appear on the Reservation Summaries and Invoices.
- Code: create a unique code that you will distribute to your customers. You cannot use the same code for more than one Coupon Code and your codes are case sensitive.
- Applies to and Linked to: The “Applies to” field allows you to select a general module that the coupon code would be valid for. Therefore, if a coupon code is meant for all Daycare rates, you can simply select Daycare and leave the “Linked to” field blank. If your coupon code is meant for only certain Daycare rates, you would select them individually. Please note, if you do select a specific rate in the “Linked to” field, that will override the module selected in the “Applies to” field.
- Price: here, you will choose the value of the code’s discount. Please note, the value must be entered as a negative to indicate that it’s a discount. You must also choose between the following pricing types:
– Fixed price (will discount the amount one time, even if more than one of the rate is selected – it would apply to only one of ten booked daycare days)
– Fixed adjustment (will apply the discount to however many of the rate is selected – it would apply to each of the ten daycare days)
– Percentage adjustment (will apply the percentage discount to all ten of the daycare days) - Limit maximum number of uses for all customers: if you select No, then there is no limit to how many customers can apply this code to their bookings until you deactivate it. If you select Yes, you can then choose to limit how many times it is used (for example, if might be a discount available to the first 25 customers to submit a booking request)
- Limit maximum number of uses per customer: similarly to the previous setting, you can also choose to limit how many times an individual customer can apply a coupon code. You might let one customer use the code as many times as they would like, or you might limit it to one use per customer.
- Can be combined with other coupons?: you can choose if a customer can use this coupon code on a booking in combination with another code or if it can only be applied by itself.
- Rules: you are not required to add a rule to your coupon code as you might want to let anyone use it. However, you may add rules based on aspects of the bookings (such as, extended stay or date range) or on specifics of the customer or pet (such as, Customer Colour Code or Pet Breed). Please note, not all rules are available to all module types.
Once your Coupon Code is saved, you can distribute the code to the customers you would like it to be available to. Both you and your customers will be able to enter a Coupon Code when creating a booking. If a code’s discount is no longer being offered, please go back into your settings and set it to Inactive in order to disable it.
If you have a Coupon Code active in your account, the Coupon Code field will then appear when creating a booking. If you no longer want the Coupon Code field to appear, please ensure that all your Coupon Codes are set to inactive.
